Front Row Pix: Summer Slaughter Tour @ The Palladium In Worcester, MA

By Frank Poulin

Summer SlaughterLast weekend the FlashWounds team was invited to catch the Summer Slaughter Tour during its stop in Worcester, Massachusetts. No fewer than 17 bands stormed the two stages at the Palladium for nearly 10 hours of non-stop metal.

Standout sets included openers Pathogenic and Berlin-based The Ocean (more on that performance here). I was also looking forward to Animals As Leaders, a personal favorite, who delivered an even better set than the last time I saw them in Boston. During their set, frontman and acclaimed guitarist Tosin Abasi commented how the full house at the Palladium were “crazy motherfuckers” for sticking it out for the entire day and still have energy left. And the night wasn’t even over, as The Dillinger Escape Plan came on afterwards in their usual explosive style to finish us off. One thing’s for sure: every fan got their money’s worth that day — and then some!

I couldn’t be everywhere at once so I only have shots from 11 of the bands, but that still makes for a lot of pixels. Enjoy!
