I Exist: New Album From Darkness To Be Released on CD & LP on March 18

From Darkness, the acclaimed new album by the Canberra-based sludge outfit I Exist, will be made available on CD and LP on March 18 via Prosthetic Records. Described as “…Australia’s best kept secret,” (Decibel), I Exist has also unveiled a studio video for the new song “Heal Me In Smoke,” consisting of footage from their recording session in Melbourne with Blood Duster’s Jason Fuller (King Parrot, Mindsnare) along with video tour diary footage from their recent European tour with Harm’s Way. Mixed at South Carolina’s Jam Room by Jay Matheson and Kylesa’s Phillip Cope (Baroness, Black Tusk), From Darkness features 12 energetic tracks combining elements of doom, sludge and blackened hardcore that Kill Your Stereo describes as “…their most powerful, engaging and diverse record to date…” and likens to pioneer acts Black Sabbath, Eyehategod and Electric Wizard. Upon its digital release in December, the album received 8/10 reviews in both Decibel (“…a stoner/sludge fist-to-the-mutton-chops…”) and Outburn (“…perfect for a night of debauchery when all you want to do is be left alone and rock the fuck out.”), and the band is featured in the current issue of Revolver (“…a bracing blend of heavy styles…”).
In addition to frequently performing in and around their home country, I Exist has toured Europe extensively and has performed alongside the likes of Black Breath, Every Time I Die, Doomriders, Eyehategod, Russian Circles and Psycroptic.
