2014 Tour Dates With Jeremy Messersmith Announced

New Album Caves Out Now on Pupsnake Records / Thirty Tigers

Tristen is excited to unveil the music video for her song “Catalyst” from her new album CAVES, out now on Pupsnake Records / Thirty Tigers.  The Nashville by way of Chicago songwriter’s latest work was named one of the Top 50 Albums of 2013 by American Songwriter, and won honors from the Nashville Scene as the #1 best local release of 2013. All the more impressive considering CAVES saw Tristen boldly going in a new direction with her music, rather than rehash the alt-country and folk pop flavored themes of her critically acclaimed debut release Charlatans At The Garden Gate.

The risk paid off, with CAVES winning plaudits as an album that SPIN says “… Tristen as a synth-pop siren,” while Consequence of Sound proclaimed, “Unapologetically, this is Tristen is being everything she’s set out to be.”

“While her voice is as strong as ever, it’s now backed by a synth-pop orchestra that is equal parts brooding and pop-minded.” – Nylon

“[CAVES] cranks up the complexity, craft and drama; mixing futuristic moments with quirky lullabies and the same biting tongue, sacrificing folk references for ’80s touch points like New Order and even experimental outfits like Dirty Projectors.” – American Songwriter

CAVES was recorded with a hand picked host of A-List Nashville indie-rock session vets, features lush string arrangements written by Tristen herself and laid down with the help of Bright Eyes producer Mike Mogis at his ARC Recording Studios in Omaha, and to achieve an authentic synth-pop sheen, she enlisted famed New Order, Pet Shop Boys and OMD producer Stephen Hague to mix, a pioneer in the field of digital recording.
