Front Row Pix: Philip H. Anselmo @ The Palladium In Worcester, MA
Tuesday night the FlashWounds team caught up with the Technicians Of Distortion tour in Worcester. Unfortunately the heavy week-night traffic prevented us from making all the early sets (although we did catch industrial doom and drone metal one-man band Author and Punisher, who definitely brought the “distortion” and “technician” elements to the night), but they must have been pretty intense because by the time Warbeast came on the fans were pretty whipped up and they wanted more.
Halfway through their set, Warbeast frontman Bruce Corbitt waves on Anselmo himself for a great tag-team rendition of “Scorched Earth Policy.” Great chemistry ~ as well there should be, given the close collaboration between the two bands.
Anselmo and The Illegals ~ guitarist Marzi Montazeri, bassist Steve Taylor, and Jose Manual Gonzalez on drums ~ later came on to close the deal, and close the deal they did. Mid-week shows like these always face lighter attendance, but all of us who defied the school-day curfew were glad we did.
