Paper Diamond Announces New EP Paragon + Releases First Single “They Can’t Tell Me Nothing”

“They Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is the first single from Boulder based, genre defying Paper Diamond’s forthcoming EP Paragon, set to be released April 16th 2013. Paragon will feature a range of production, instrumentation, and collaborators all woven into Paper Diamond’s signature style.  During the past two months, while on tour with Excision, Paper Diamond has been dropping the new single, featuring original verses from Texas rapper J Fresh, and it has whipped crowds into a total frenzy. According to Paper Diamond, “It’s one of the rowdiest parts of the show.” For the next two months, you can expect several more leaks, songs, and releases from Paper Diamond…all leading up to the release of Paragon.

“They Can’t Tell Me Nothing” premiered exclusively on This Song is Sick, which raves, “This has all the signs of being a festival anthem. The song starts with a peculiar stabbing synth that sets the mood of the track. Paper Diamond is making quite a name for himself, and it comes as no surprise to those familiar with his endlessly creative music that the name Paper Diamond makes perfect sense. As the artist says, “Paper Diamond draws from an origami concept in that If you have a piece of paper, whatever your diamond shape is (simple or complex), that’s YOUR art. The hip-hop community has also welcomed Paper Diamond with open arms ~ recent collaborator, Big Boi gave him a shout-out in Vibe Magazine, and his track “The 40 Thieves” had an exclusive premiere on Jay-Z’s Life + Times. In an interview with Life + Times, Paper Diamond said, “I’ve been taught that music is a conversation. I personally use music to express my voice.”
