Secondhand Rapture from MS MR

New York’s MS MR is quenching our thirst for good house/soul fuzz/electroshock music with the release of their debut album, Secondhand Rapture, due out on May 14 on Columbia Records. It’s time to throw the switch on the fog machine, grab your glow jewelry, and mingle your way into the musical mist with the intentions of losing yourself to the beat.
MS MR, made up Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow, enthralls fans worldwide with their mind-bending and often delightfully dark definitions of pop. Secondhand Rapture is comprised of 12 
tracks and was produced by Hershenow, with additional production and mix by Tom Elmhirst. Plapginger and Hershenow recently played a handful of new songs during their sold-out stints at NYC’s Mercury Lounge and their headline debut at The Echo in Los Angeles. Never stopping to rest, MS MR is slated to perform at the upcoming SXSW ~ and for those Game of Thrones fans out there, you might recognize the band’s song “Bones” on the Season 3 trailer of the series.
Earlier this month, MS MR revealed their first official music video for the new track “Fantasy.” The band explained, “Shot on location in Jamaica, Queens with our dear friend and talented director Austin Peters, the video for ‘Fantasy’ stays true to the main themes and questions behind the track: things we imagine or think we understand are not as they appear. This video presents a world filled with fantasies gone wrong where the mundane, the surreal and the supernatural are all intertwined and what is real becomes a matter of perspective.”
