Hot off the release of This Is M.E., her 13th studio album, multiplatinum-selling singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge will perform a special intimate show at Los Angeles’ historic Orpheum Theatre  this Friday, December 12th. The concert ~ which will be filmed for an AXS TV broadcast in May and a spring 2015 DVD release ~ will also include acclaimed folk group Delta Rae  joining Etheridge for two songs.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer, songwriter and activist is touring the U.S. in support of her new album which was released in September on her own ME label. Rolling Stone called This Is M.E. “…all lust and no fuss…,” and said she “…loosens up her roots rock sound, adding a light hip-hop shuffle on some tracks…and a swampy Delta feel on ‘Ain’t That Bad’ and ‘Stranger Road.'” Joining Etheridge on the tour is Grammy-winning Fugees producer bassist Jerry Wonda.

“I am thrilled to be filming this show in L.A.,” shares Etheridge. “Touring with Jerry Wonda has brought my music to new levels and we will capture it all that night. I’m so glad my friends Delta Rae are joining in on the fun, also.”

The TV special and DVD are being produced by acclaimed rock music film producer Barry Summers of Rock Fuel Media, which recently released the chart-topping Guns ‘n Roses DVD Appetite For Democracy 3D.

“I had the privilege of producing Melissa’s last holiday concert special in 2009,” says Summers. “It’s always a pleasure to work with such an amazing artist and we’re lucky to be filming at the historic  Orpheum Theatre where Judy Garland performed Vaudeville in the 1930’s-it’s truly a majestic backdrop to capture Melissa’s new band, performing new music and classic hits.”
