Lewis W

Album Has Already Hit  #3 (Standard) and #4 (Deluxe) on iTunes’ Singer/Songwriter Chart

Watson StayToday marks the US release of Lewis Watson’s long-awaited debut album The Morning. Demonstrating his powers as a songwriter, these new songs take Lewis’ stripped-back, guitar-and-voice roots to a new level of richer, more textured soundscapes. The fan response is palpable, as The Morning has already rocketed to #3 (standard) and #4 (deluxe) on the iTunes Singer/ Songwriter chart. Having previously unveiled The Morning album cuts “Halo” and “Stay” plus the chilling “Stay” Alice In Wonderland-esque accompanying video, Watson now gives us a chance to hear the album streaming in full @ Billboard.  He has also put together a “track by track vid” so that we can find out more about each song on The Morning!

He has also announced a full North American tour in support of the record, which will take him & his captivating live show to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, and more! Watson quickly become renowned for his charismatic stage presence & knack for genuinely engaging his audience, nearly all of whom remain enamored and faithful fans.

In 2012, Lewis self-released his debut EP It’s Got Four Sad Songs On It BTW after establishing a devoted online fan-base. It too topped the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart on the first day of release, outselling the likes of Adele, Madonna and Ed Sheeran in the process, and landed the then-nineteen year old singer/songwriter a deal with Warner Bros. UK.

In addition to critical acclaim, all five of Watson’s EPs to date have hit the Top 10 at iTunes, each building upon the sales of the previous release. Meanwhile, his online following grows more phenomenal by the day: 6.3 million YouTube plays, 100,000 “Likes” on Facebook, 5 million streams at Spotify, and 70,000 followers on Twitter.

“Lewis Watson knows how to make us feel an aching in our hearts with his quiet and gorgeously harmonized version of Local Natives’ ‘Wide Eyes.'” ~ Refinery29

” …brings to mind the Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes or his fellow Brits, Mumford & Sons.” ~ PAPER

“This elegant song [‘Even If’] about mistrust and regret is a doozy, achingly lonely but levelheaded, and Mr. Watson sings it with a mature voice and a mildly mawkish earnestness.” ~ The New York Times, Jon Caramanica

“There’s no doubt: Lewis Watson really is out of this world.” NYLON
