Dragonette Shares Their Bodyparts!

By Jane Croft

bodypartsBringing you hot doses of electro pop since 2005, Dragonette is once again bringing us frisky, juped-up songs with their recently released third album, Bodyparts.  And with so much musical synth fun packed into each song, the group decided to spread the love and hit the streets again for a crazy North American tour in March.

Dragonette hails from Toronto, Ontario and includes singer-songwriter Martina Sorbara, bassist and and producer Dan Kurtz and drummer Joel Stouffer.  In the early days of their electric rainbow jams, they released a self-titled EP before being signed to Mercury Records and releasing their debut album GaloreFixin to Thrill, their second studio album, hit the racks in 2009 and Bodyparts was released in September of last year, thrilling legions of loyal fans who were looking for a new and improved reason to “shake it.”

For the trio, 2012 was a busy year in general; not only did they release an album and tour in the fall, but they won a JUNO Award for their hit single “Hello”  and performed on “Good Morning America.” Fans will now have another chance to catch Dragonette live when they hit the road starting March 1 with Major Lazer.  In celebration of the tour, Dragonette has released a brand new remix (Sunshine Jones remix) of the Bodyparts opener “Run Run Run” that you’ve just got to listen to and allow to take hold of, as they say, “what ya mama gave you.” With their trademark infectious beats and high energy, we dare you to try to escape the contagious grooves.
