The Continent and Kevin Kinsella Take It Underground
This Friday, August 21, The Continent and special guest Kevin Kinsella will be at Opus Underground in Salem, MA, making sure that your weekend starts on a high note with their organically energetic yet oh-so-cool styles that separately and together always make for an amazing musical experience.
The Continent is known for pulling double musical duty as both an adventurous instrumental dub outfit and a backing band for several international artists. Bringing together some of Boston and New Hampshire’s most seasoned reggae musicians, the band pays homage to classic dubplates, 90s dancehall, and contemporary reggae.
Since the band’s inception in 2012, they have backed international touring and recording artist Kenyatta Hill (Culture), Sleepy Wonder (Thievery Corporation), Michael Gabriel, BCAP, and many others. Whether it’s with hip hop, funk, reggae, or dub, The Continent delivers their music with an authentic spirit and energy that keeps the crowd moving…and smiling.
The one and only Kevin Kinsella, founder of John Brown’s Body & 10ft Ganja Plant (Check out FlashWounds photographer Kim Marchand’s photos of Kevin [along with a line-up of some of our other favorite acoustic / soul / reggae / dub performers] here!) is the perfect choice to join The Continent, and we can’t think of a better way than this show to unwind and chill with friends and the extended family that these performers and you, their fans, have created. It all starts at 9pm…and you can bet Kim will be front and center, so make sure you head over to say hello!
