New Jersey stoner-rock trio The Atomic Bitchwax, now featuring drummer/percussionist Bob Pantella and bassist/vocalist Chris Kosnik of another legendary NJ rock band, Monster Magnet, joining guitarist/vocalist Finn Ryan, have just unleashed their brand new, psychedelic-style music video for the track “No Way Man,” cut from their new album Gravitron, released via TeePee Records earlier this year. Watch the video here via MetalSucks…and then order the album that you’ll be playing non-stop all summer and beyond.

And as if an album that gives the music scene a much needed “remember funk, remember super cool guitar solos, remember just freakin’ groovy, do-it-hard-up-against-the-wall rock” kick in the teeth weren’t enough, The Atomic Bitchwax recently announced their upcoming U.S. headline tour, which kicks off in Brooklyn, NY at The Shop next Thursday, August 13th…and hot, sticky summer nights and The Atomic Bitchwax were made for each other.  Support will come from Mos Generator and Against The Grain.

More About The Atomic Bitchwax & Gravitron

Another still from the video

Another still from the video

As mentioned above, The Atomic Bitchwax ~  in many circles (including mine) elevated to the status of legends in the stoner rock genre ~ recently returned with gargantuan riffs and jaw-dropping psych sonics on their sixth full length LP, Gravitron. Alongside shred-tastic gunslinger Finn Ryan, the two new aforementioned members of Monster Magnet fame were instrumental (OK, that pun was unintentional, I swear) in perfecting the band’s unique style of NYC hard rock that High Times appropriately dubbed “thunder-boogie.”

On GravitronThe Atomic Bitchwax‘s Rush-like riff mazes and carpal-tunnel-inducing riffs are on full display; every note bleeds with urgency. This is high-octane, ’70s-based hard rock infused with stabs of psychedelia and landslides of Tommy Bolin-inspired guitar heroics. Gravitron is an A-level masterclass in true Bad Ass Rock’n’ Roll and cements The Atomic Bitchwax as one mutha of a band in today’s heavy music landscape…up and coming rockers, best step aside and take note, ’cause The Wax is gonna show you how it’s done.
