Heavy Montreal Finalizes Daily Schedule!

Heavy logo

Heavy Montréal, presented by Molson Canadian, produced by the event experts at evenko, and held at  Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 7, 8 and 9, is just days away (Where did the summer go?? At least there’s no reason to complain how time flies since August brings Heavy, by far one of the highlights of the summer!) and the schedule for this hard rock and metal  experience ~ featuring a jaw-dropping line-up ~ is ready!  What?  You don’t have your tickets yet?  Well, you’re in luck, there is still time to purchase them at heavymontreal.com… But you’d better act fast before the “Sold Out” banner goes up!

Before we share the schedule (and as we advise every year [if you missed our coverage from last year, stop by here and here when you get a chance] , it really does pay to have a plan before you arrive), there are a few updates to pass on: Venom IncRevocationBeyond Creation have been added to the Friday lineup, Ion Dissonance is joining the Saturday lineup, and Exes For Eyes is now on the bill for Sunday.

Much to the dismay to those of us who always look forward to seeing Mastodon, the band has had to cancel their Heavy Montreal performance due to a personal family matter.  We know you join us in wishing the band all the best. Periphery, Pentagram and Intervals will also not be performing as previously scheduled.

Other Events Presented by Heavy Montréal

Heavy Montreal makes a point of getting the excitement for the festival itself building in a big way with a whole variety of events starting in July and continuing ‘til literally the day before the official kickoff of HM, and then makes sure that even after giving the crowd full days-into-night of headbanging heaven, they keep the energy going with don’t miss after-parties that no matter how tired you are, somehow manage to get your adrenaline pumping full force. They produce shows long after Heavy comes to an end as well, and you can keep track of those by clicking here.  There’s lots of good stuff on tap, so have a look at the below…

We’ll be starting our immersion into all that is Heavy Montreal on August 5, so if you see us out and about anytime and anywhere ‘til the very last second of the Festival, come hang out for a few minutes!

Now to get you even more into the Heavy Montreal mindset, here are a few videos from some of the artists performing this year…crank ‘em up and enjoy!

A few simple tips to follow for the best HM experience possible:

You can now reserve your lockers for HM2015 to keep your personal effects safe and dry at the festival! Just click here

Note that that First Nations Headdresses are not permitted at the festival out of respect for their spiritual and cultural significance in the native communities.

heavy waterIf you bring your own reusable bottle, you can fill it at one of the many on-site water stations

It’s often hot and humid as hell during the day, but once the sun goes down, it gets COLD…so either bring a jacket/hoody with you or buy one on-site (but keep in mind that some of the merch vendors close before the end of the night, so you can’t always find something warm).

Probably goes without saying, but just in case there are any of you out there who plan on trying to look your best for the main part of the festival and think you’ll be fine in those sexy high heels or brand new Italian loafers…BAD IDEA!  Choose comfort over all else and remember that if there’s a downpour (and you may laugh, but pop one of those dollar see-through ponchos into a purse or back pocket), those stilettos are going to become your worst enemy and leather man-loafers will be history, that you’re going to be doing a LOT of walking (or running to get to a stage all the way across the venue), and that it’s all about the music, the experience you get to share with old or new friends, and no-one gives a shit what you’re wearing or if you have on make-up and just got your hair done.  Just think comfort, hydration, sunscreen, and a hoody…the music, venue, and fellow headbangers will take care of the rest!  See you soon in Montreal!!
