The Amnesia Rockfest team is proud to unveil the trailer, which features members of Bad Religion, The Offspring, Pennywise, Korn, NOFX and Lagwagon speaking about what makes Amnesia such a special and worthwhile event to play and attend, for the upcoming documentary film Montebello Rock Village: The Story of Rockfest  here

An ongoing project since 2010, the film will finally be ready for its official debut this fall in honor of and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival.  The documentary tells the unique story of the event from its modest beginnings with just 500 festival goers through interviews with everyone from Founder/President Alex Martel to his parents (his father actually built the first set by hand) to over 200 of the huge name bands who have been part of what has become the largest rock festival in Canada…no small feat, and not one accomplished without having to overcome significant struggles and roadblocks.

Many more details about the film’s release will be announced in the upcoming months, and the Festival’s organizers encourage all movie theaters, distributors and film festivals interested in a screening to get in touch with them as soon as possible.

AmnesiaAmnesia Rockfest, which will take place this year from June 18-21 in Montebello, Quebec, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary Edition with a massive lineup featuring over 100 bands including System Of A Down, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Slayer, Snoop Dogg, Rob Zombie, Tenacious D, Sublime with Rome, Deftones, Rancid, Bad Religion and tons more.  Showing that the festival’s popularity is only growing, 85% of tickets have already been sold, with many weeks still to go before the Festival begins.  With a team as dedicated to making Amnesia the best it can be for all involved ~ including the town of Montebello, which enjoys both a significant amount of press and a huge swell in profits thanks to the event (Rockfest generated over $20,000,000 in economic spin-offs last year) ~ Alex continues to pinpoint and follow through on ways to upgrade every facet of the festival he has championed for so many years, and with vast improvements to the camping accommodations already in place for 2015 coupled with a stellar line-up that gains more “How did he pull that off?” major band reunions seemingly each week, there is no doubt that 85% will become 100% very quickly.

A Little More About Rockfest

There truly is a very special vibe to Amnesia Rockfest and it hits you the moment you set foot in Montebello.  The tiny community suddenly becomes a huge community of music fans, and not only does a sense of camaraderie amongst festival goers form almost immediately, but so does a sense that the people in charge of the event are, so to speak, in the trenches with the audience, press, and artists, working non-stop and from a very genuine place of love for Amnesia to make sure that everyone is taken care of and gets the most out of the experience.

Founded in 2005 by a 17 year-old kid from Montebello who wanted to transform his small town into a rock paradise, Amnesia Rockfest is now the largest rock music festival in Canada with perhaps the most involved, down-to-earth, sincerely invested former 17 year old at its helm, a combination of serious business man, production guru, and hard rock/metal fan just like the rest of us. Known for its impressive annual lineups, affordable tickets, party vibe, and pristine location along the Ottawa River, Amnesia Rockfest and its host town of Montebello do indeed have intertwining stories that deserve to be told…So as we look forward to this anniversary edition of the festival, we’ll also be looking forward to the release of Montebello Rock Village: The Story of Rockfest.
