Happy New Year from Amnesia Rockfest’s Alex Martel!
Sure, Alex Martel, President & Founder of Amnesia Rockfest, is a genius when it comes to producing his mega-festival, assembling a super-sharp team to make sure everything runs smoothly, and putting together such an incredible line-up of bands that you do a double-take when you first see the list of names. He also happens to be one of the nicest and most humble guys you’ll ever meet (when we met him at Amnesia 2014, he was just hanging with some friends, blending in with the rest of us in a pair of shorts and Tshirt and a big grin on his face as we all watched the band on stage together) ~ just check out his message below:
“2014 was a great year for Rockfest on many levels. You came back in even bigger numbers than 2013. You’ve confirmed our status of the largest rock festival in Quebec and Canada, as well as one of the biggest in North America. For that I am eternally grateful and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in this crazy independent project of a kid from Montebello. I’m simply a music fan, just like you. We’re putting together [our] 10th Anniversary Edition, with the most diverse lineup yet, a mix of bands that never played the event before and a ”best of” the 9 previous years. We’re also finalizing a documentary film about the 10 years of the event. Happy New Year 2015 to everyone! Peace, love, respect and ROCK!”
