Kreator proudly mark their return to North America for 26 shows as direct support on ARCH ENEMY’s sponsored by Dean Guitars.  Baltimore, Maryland hosts the tour’s launch on October 23rd, and the itinerary includes eight Canadian shows and ends in Cleveland, Ohio on November 23rd.  Openers include California’s HUNTRESS and Chicago’s STARKILL (on select dates).

“Both bands have been talking about touring together for many years, now it becomes reality,” said KREATOR guitarist frontman Mille Petrozza. KREATOR and ARCH ENEMY on one bill in the USA and Canada!  We are looking forward for another killer run in support of our album Phantom Antichrist before we will start writing new stuff in 2015.  This will be THE metal tour of the fall.  Don’t miss it!” (FlashWounds won’t, make sure you don’t, either!)

More About Kreator’s History and Their New Album

“I do not know what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.” ~ Albert Einstein

Courage takes many forms.  In action, thought, and deed, many throughout history have stared Fear straight in the eyes and proclaimed, “There are things more important than you, so get the hell out of my way!”

Kreator albumWhen your life needs that extra push of pure adrenaline that can only come from pure rage, you can rely on KREATOR to deliver the goods.  Accepting their self-imposed responsibility to provide social critique with the intense velocity of their live shows, KREATOR’s thirteenth studio album, Phantom Antichrist, is a word of warning to all of Earth’s inhabitants, a finger pointed squarely in our faces to drive home the indisputable fact that we and we alone are the cause of the world’s terror & despair, the social unrest & injustice, the disrepair & destruction.  From the annihilating opening attack of “Mars Mantra/Phantom Antichrist” to the day of reckoning in “Death To The World” to the anguished call for unity in “From Flood Into Fire” to the predictions of what will be mere scraps of humanity remaining in “Civilization Collapse,” Phantom Antichrist is a cautionary prophecy encapsulated in 45 minutes and 29 seconds, a cracked crystal ball look ahead to our own merciless deaths caused by our own deathly mercilessness.

Born as Tormentor in 1982 in the industrial city of Essen, Germany, KREATOR rose from obscurity to become one of the “Three Kings” of Teutonic Thrash (alongside their compatriots Destruction and Sodom).   What began with local shows and then a modest touring radius quickly expanded to include five continents.  With their legacy of four studio albums and two EPs in the ‘80s (including 1986’s thrash metal must-have Pleasure To Kill), five studio albums in the tumultuous ‘90s, and now plowing past their third decade of aural assault with three live albums and four studio releases in the past twelve years, KREATOR have claimed their crown as one of Europe’s most resilient, enduring, successful, and influential thrash metal bands since the creation of the genre.

Showing no signs of mellowing with age but rather remaining unwaveringly, single-mindedly dedicated to refining a sound they helped pioneer close to three decades ago, KREATOR ~ Mille Petrozza, vocals & guitars, Sami Yli-Sirniö, guitars,  Christian “Speesy” Geisler, bass, Jürgen “Ventor” Reil, drums ~ are precise, masters of technique and performance, and in full command of their musical power.  Recorded in Örebro, Sweden at the famed Fascination Street Studio with renowned producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork) and featuring artwork by the iconic airbrush artist Wes Benscoter (Slayer, AC/DC, Black Sabbath), Phantom Antichrist proves ~ both musically and lyrically ~ that KREATOR remains synonymous with extreme aggression, technicality, and unadulterated, in-your-face truth.  With his trademarked narrative grandeur, vocalist & guitarist Mille Petrozza himself stated, “The album will rip your face off and blow away everything the ‘Big Four’ [Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax] have released in the past few years!”

Showcasing a ferocity belying these musicians’ years, Phantom Antichrist is the work of legends proving their relevance, their skill, and their daring when it comes to evolving their art, never resting on their laurels.  All indicators point to this record ~ which is simultaneously modern and classic ~ becoming another benchmark album of the genre.  It debuted at #130 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and landed at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.  In Canada, the album came in at #128 on the Top 200 Albums chart and #15 on the Top Hard Music Albums chart.  In Europe, Phantom Antichrist secured the #5 position on the German Media Control chart (KREATOR’s highest debut in their motherland) and debuted on the following international charts: #11 in Finland, #13 in Hungary, #22 in Switzerland, #30 in Sweden, #31 in Austria, #39 in Norway, #60 in France, #87 in Holland, #89 in Spain, #126 in Belgium, and #181 in the U.K.

Social vitriol never goes out of season and no matter how much time passes, there will always be a need for fist-pumping anthems for us to voice our dissent with.  Thrash metal is metal at its very core because it captures the essence of defiance that is so vital to its definition.  It is blistering, intelligent, and caustic, delivered with the venom of unbending conviction as only seasoned life veterans like KREATOR can spew.
