A Vivid Memory
out Sept. 2 ~ Group currently touring along the East Coast

“…Dramatic swells and ebbs, swirling walls of guitar, thunderclouds of percussion…” ~ these are just a few of the phrases Tampa Bay Times used to describe A Vivid Memory, the newest effort from instrumental atmospheric post-metal group Set And Setting. Unappreciated Scholars just gave the new album an A and said, “This is a solid piece of instrumental work that defies genre and proves that an instrumental record can engage the listener from beginning to end. A Vivid Memory is an easy ‘ Best of 2014′ contender.”

The album is scheduled for release on Sept. 2 via Prosthetic Records, but you can stream in now in full at A.V. Club here

Set liveSet And Setting was originally formed as a recording project in 2009 by guitarist Shane Handal and has since continued to develop into its current line-up which also features Ryan Fugate (guitars), Stephen Handal (drums, ambience), Mark Etherington (drums), and Nick Sibilia (bass).

Lauded as 2013′s “Best Bay Area Breakout Band” by Creative Loafing (Tampa) following the release of their debut record Equanimity (Science of Silence Records), the band headed to Pinecrust Studios in Miami with producer – engineer – mixer Ryan Haft (Torche, Capsule) for the creation of their conceptual effort A Vivid Memory, which touches on the feelings surrounding death from varying perspectives and invites you to fully experience these emotions as you listen.
