Sims Announces Field Notes Release
Album Out September 2nd on Doomtree Records
Sims announces the release of Field Notes, a collection of 7 new tracks set for release on September 2nd through Doomtree Records. Following 2011’s critically acclaimed Bad Time Zoo LP, Field Notes finds the Minneapolis rapper in fine form, spitting poignant, razor-sharp lyrics over larger than life productions from Doomtree’s own Cecil Otter and Paper Tiger, as well as newcomers ICETEP and Plain Ole Arson (Ryan Olson x Plain Ole Bill).
Field Notes is available for pre-order today on the Doomtree webstore (deluxe and standard) and digitally via iTunes. Anyone who pre-orders will receive the first single ~ “Uh Huh” ~ as an instant grat track.
In support of the release, Sims will hit the road for a month-long run with Australian hip-hop group Hilltop Hoods. The tour, which runs across the US and Canada, starts in San Francisco on August 28th and wraps up September 28th in Cambridge, MA. Before he hits the road with Hilltop Hoods, Sims will be playing a special hometown show at First Avenue on August 23rd with Astronautalis (who pops up for a guest appearance on the Field Notes track “This Is The Place”).
