The September 19 opening night will feature a special one-night-only concert with the music and filmmaking legend himself, Rob Zombie, along with the inimitable Powerman 5K.

ROB CROP NOW“The first year was such a blast. I am thrilled to be able to take the Great American Nightmare to a new city this year,” said Zombie. “My only goal is to make it even sicker than last year.”

“We’re excited to be bringing Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare to WestWorld of Scottsdale,” says Great American Nightmare producer Steve Kopelman. “While we really appreciate the tremendous support we received in Southern California, we felt it was our responsibility to bring the terror to as many different people and markets as possible. Great American Nightmare 2014 will build upon the foundation established last year and promises to be bigger and bloodier.”

The shocking ~ and sometimes disturbing ~ attractions will offer a three-dimensional experience with animatronics and effects, a maze that triggers the panic of claustrophobia, the sudden chills and startling thrills that could only come from a mind like Zombie’s, and salacious humor that will make patrons scream with fright and laughter.

Rob all 3

Great American Nightmare is a fully immersive haunted house experience featuring three attractions based on Rob Zombie’s own horror films: The Lords Of Salem In Total Black Out, Captain Spaulding’s Clown School In 3D, and The Devil’s Rejects.  Guests will enter the three areas sequentially:

LORDS USEThe Lords Of Salem In Total Black Out: This harrowing attraction ~ based on Zombie’s 2012 The Lords Of Salem independent horror film ~ is designed to twist the mind. It will accentuate some senses while limiting others. Fear of the darkness, claustrophobia, and fear of the unknown will be exploited as visitors attempt to navigate this sixty-degree maze.

Captain Spaulding

Captain Spaulding’s Clown School In 3D: This irreverent school of pure terror is an hallucinogenic trip through the mind of Captain Spaulding (House Of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects). Fright after fright will thoroughly petrify the bravest horror fan and result in screams, laughter, and tears.

The Devil’s Rejects:
The murderous, backwoods Firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force that isn’t afraid of being as ruthless as its target. Guests will become part of the state troopers’ search and destroy mission against the Firefly family, who are wanted for over 75 homicides and disappearances.

Rob the RestIn addition, the Great American Nightmare’s Bloody Boulevard will feature freak shows, musical entertainment, roaming characters, themed food and beverages, games and vendors each night.

Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare 2013 was a huge hit with fans and received widespread praise from the media:

“Great American Nightmare may be the best example yet of the upsizing of haunted houses over the last decade…” ~ Steven Kurutz, The New York Times, October 24, 2013

“All of the demented, satanic, bloody – yet, at times, comical – things that have defined rocker-turned-horror-director Rob Zombie’s film career are all coming to life in his Great American Nightmare fest…” ~ Kelli Skye Fadroski, Orange County Register, October 10, 2013

“…for fans of bloodcurdling horror, it is like a dream come true…The 3-D effects are stunning…a truly intense and horrific experience that will most likely have an effect on you long after you leave the grounds…the sets are expertly crafted and the actors are top-notch. This is Hollywood horror at its finest…To Zombie’s credit, he holds back nothing, delivering a truly frightening experience that is vivid and supremely unforgettable. It is provocative, graphic and quite daring. In a very real way, he has re-invented the haunted house.” ~ Chris Epting, Loudwire.com, October 14, 2013

“…far and away the most intensely disturbing haunted house we have ever experienced…This is no schlock – the level of detail is truly jaw-dropping…one hell of a good time.” ~ Joe Daly, Metal Hammer, October 11, 2013
