Skeletonwitch: Breathing The Fire Picture Discs Coming In August

Skeleton 1

Band posts behind-the-scenes pictures from music video shoot and prepares for European tour

SKELETONWITCH will release the first-ever picture disc pressing of Breathing The Fire on August 5. Featuring vibrant artwork completed by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust) and limited to only 500 copies worldwide, the LP can now be pre-ordered bundled with an exclusive t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt from the Prosthetic webshop here.

Accurately foreseen by Metal Hammer as “…the start of something tremendous…,” Breathing The Fire ~ SKELETONWITCH‘s second album for Prosthetic, and third overall ~ proved to be the necessary stepping stone to bring the five-piece Ohio-based heavy metal ritualists to the forefront of the scene. The group’s first recording featuring bassist Evan Linger, the album ~ produced by the legendary Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, 3 Inches of Blood) ~ also marked their first-ever foray onto Billboard’s Top 200, a chart they’ve since cracked twice.

Skeleton the band

Immediately after finishing recording Breathing The Fire in Seattle, SKELETONWITCH hit the road with Trap Them and Saviours for the first of many tours to support the album. From there, the group would spend the next year spreading their fiery enthusiasm on the road with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Children of Bodom and The Black Dahlia Murder before joining the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Judas Priest front man Rob Halford on the final Ozzfest.

As SKELETONWITCH steamrolled their way into the hearts of metalheads, they also managed to catch the eye of Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim,” who asked if the band had any unreleased or rare material to contribute to a free compilation. Soon after, the group was flown to Atlanta to film a zombie-themed video for the once-obscure foreign bonus track “Bringers of Death” (and this was before zombies were trendy!).

SKELETONWITCH is currently flying overseas for a three-week European tour which will see them perform with Suffocation and Havok and appear at select festivals (Party.San, Summer Breeze, Brutal Assault). Prior to their departure, the band stopped by Turnstyle Films in Cleveland to record a new music video for “Unending, Everliving,” a song from their most recent effort Serpents Unleashed, which marked the band’s highest entry to date (#63) on Billboard’s Top 200. Stay tuned for more information on the video, but for now, take a peek behind-the-scenes of its filming via the below photo collage!
