Pompeya’s Night EP Out Now Via No Shame
Russian Band Working on New Music
If you have not yet had the pleasure, allow us to make an introduction to Pompeya, the Russian indie pop outfit, who released their new EP Night via Brooklyn label No Shame earlier this summer.
The Night EP (which you can purchase here) follows the singles “Satellite,” “Night,” and “Does,” which were released in Spring 2014.
The new EP was preceded by the release of the band’s debut album Tropical, which dropped in October 2013, as well as Tropical Remixed, released in January 2014, which featured Fred Falke’s standout remix of “90” along with other notable contributors including Jimmy Edgar, Psychemagik, and Felix da Housecat.
With roots firmly established overseas from their albums, extensive touring, and TV appearances, Pompeya are broadening their reach to the U.S. and beyond with their distinct blend of ’70s disco, ’80s New Wave and ’90s indie rock.
Since releasing Tropical, they have received praise across influential outlets like SPIN, XLR8R, Thump (VICE), Under the Radar, MTV Hive, Interview, Earmilk, Gotta Dance Dirty, Dancing Astronaut, DUMMY, and many others:
“…upbeat, frisky disco…” ~ SPIN
“…distilled indie-pop perfection…” ~ Interview Magazine
“…funk basslines, rollicking grooves, warm synths…” ~ DUMMY Mag
“…a unique breed of pop music…Newness and excitement, yet simultaneously familiar… ” ~ Indie Shuffle
“There is something magical and effortless about their style and groove. Indie rock without too much rock. Beach music without the sunburn.” ~ The Burning Ear
Pompeya have only just begun to lay the foundation for their future and already they are one of the most exciting international exports of 2014 ~ look out for new music coming this fall and a new full-length that will likely drop in 2015.
