Grave Digger Introduces Metal Wine and Prepared to Release New Album

Grave Digger

New Album Return of The Reaper Available July 15th in North America on Napalm Records

Grave Digger have been doing their own thing for many years, so why would they stop now?  The German heavy metal band is presenting its own high quality metal wine and finally, metal heads everywhere can stop pretending wine is for wimps and proudly display and drink their bottles of 2011 Deutscher Qualitätswein – NAHE.

WineAs they do their music, Grave Digger takes their wine very seriously and offers this description of their newest endeavor:

The Grave Digger Red Wine Edition 2011, 12.5% alcohol by volume,  shines in a deep dark red. It smells of plums and sweet cherries underlaid by smoky and spicy fragrances. Subtle vanilla in the nose results from its  maturation in French oak barrels. We recommend you decant the wine for an hour. With some air, flavors of black- and raspberries and understated roast aromas can develop. The wine is strong and full-bodied with a tender acidity and ripe tannins.  The varieties are 80% Dunkelfelder/20% St. Laurent.  To order, click here.

The wine is also available in an exclusive Special Edition with the upcoming release of the album Return Of The Reaper via Napalm Records (July 14th in the UK & July 15th in USA/CAN); the bottle is delivered in a coffin with a signed autograph card and an Axel Ritt guitar pick.

Grave Digger Return

Speaking of Axel, he had this to say about the band having its own win and working with 666 Metal Wines: “For us it was important to provide the local aspect. It makes no sense to rent a winery anywhere in the world just to stick our label on it and otherwise have no relationship to the product. We decided on a winery region which is located very close to the band’s location. Head of the winery, Michel Schott has not only a great affinity to Metal, he also looks just like a metalhead and is singer of metal band. Therefore, the intersection between band and winery was much larger than is normally the case.

And getting back to the music, you can view a lyric video for the song “Season of the Witch” HERE.
