On touring with the one and only Ted Nugent, Pistol Day Parade’s guitarist Rob Banks shared, “When I was 8 years old my Uncle Kenny gave me my first guitar.  My dad turned me on to Nugent when I was 9, and I went to my First Whiplash Bash.  We went 10 years in a row until Ted stopped staging the event, but continued to attend everything Ted!  I attended the Ted Nugent camp for kids, with my zebra striped guitar in hand which I had Ted sign along with my bow.  To play my first major tour as direct support for Ted Nugent is fate at its best.  When asked in interviews about my idols, he stands alone at the top of that list.  I still have my zebra guitar, and it’s coming with us on the road.”

PDP sturgisLooking towards the band’s first visit to Sturgis, Banks said, “I wanted to ride my ’78 Kawasaki to Sturgis, but the guys said it looked funny with my guitar and amp strapped on my back with some chords dragging behind me.  I’m psyched to finally get to Sturgis.  When we’re on stage, I get that same adrenaline rush as when you riding a Harley on a beautiful day with the bugs hitting your face.”

PDP at HOBTriumphing over the tough economic circumstances of the Detroit area, Pistol Day Parade is regarded as one of the top rising rock acts in the country, already earning endorsements from the likes of Dream Cymbals and Gongs, Spector Basses, and Eilxir Strings. Their debut EP, She Wants More, recorded by Mike Brown (Velvet Revolver, Breaking Benjamin) has sold close to 10,000 physical copies and thousands more digitally. The track “Rockstar’s Girlfriend” debuted at #38 on Billboard’s Active Rock charts, reaching #1 at the band’s hometown rock radio station and format leader WRIF – Detroit.  The follow-up demo single “High” was a significant hit on Midwestern rock radio and received major airplay.  Fueled by this traction in the industry, the band staged countless shows at Detroit’s famous Fillmore Theater, proving each time that while they are thrilled to be hometown stars, they are destined to be stars in the eyes (and ears) of  nationwide and likely international audience.  Being asked to support Ted Nugent speaks to what the future holds for Pistol Day Parade, as do their past supporting positions for Stone Temple Pilots, Ice-T, Tesla, and dozens of other established artists.

PDP BurnPistol Day Parade is signed to Goomba Records, which released the band’s full-length debut Burn in 2013.  The album was produced by Tim Patalan (Sponge, Lovedrug) at The Loft Studios in Saline, Michigan.  Rock radio giant WRIF – Detroit took the lead single “Better” to #1 at the station, and the follow-up single “Not Today” went to #2 on the station’s playlist.
