Congratulations to Kataklysm, Winner of the “Metal Artist of the Year” Award at 14th Annual SiriusXM Independent Music Awards!
Montreal based death metal powerhouse KATAKLYSM ~ Maurizio Iacono – Vocals, Jean-Francois Dagenais – Guitar, Stephane Barbe – Bass, Oli Beaudoin – Drums ~ took home the award for “Metal Artist/Group or Duo of the Year” at this year’s installment of the SiriusXM Indie Awards. Some of the other artist nominated this year in that category included Blood Ceremony, Gorguts, KENmode, and Voivod. “We are very pleased for this great honor,” commented the band. “KATAKLYSM remains one of the hardest working bands on the planet and we won’t change who we are ever. The future looks bright and winning this award puts a big smile on our face. The fans have spoken; thank you!” And as Kataklysm fans here at FW, we say, “No, thank you!”
KATAKLYSM recently released the music video for their rendition of the Sacred Reich classic “The American Way;” the clip was shot by director Tommy Jones (Testament, Death Angel, Ex Deo) during their recent North American tour with Belgian gore-grinders Aborted. The track can be heard on the band’s latest album Waiting for the End to Come, which was released last October via Nuclear Blast records.

Waiting for the End to Come was recorded by guitarist Jean Francois Dagenais and mixed by Zeuss (Suffocation, Hatebreed, Arsis). The artwork by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Hatebreed) is featured on the deluxe digipak and LP versions of their new album, while the cover art by Peter Sallai (Sabaton) is featured on the standard jewel case and limited edition cassette tape versions.
