Toto and Eagle Rock Entertainment Celebrate Chart Topping Sales for 35th Anniversary Tour – Live In Poland Across The Globe
Band Returns to the Road with Co-Headliner Michael McDonald on August 2 for Their Most Extensive US Run in Years
Toto and Eagle Rock Entertainment are celebrating the chart topping sales success of the band’s just released 35th Anniversary Tour – Live In Poland. The title is available in configurations that include 2CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and a deluxe edition featuring all formats with a 60-page book (MSRP $19.98 Blu-ray, $14.98 DVD, $17.98 2CD, $79.98 Deluxe Edition). The DVD debuted at #1 in The United States, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and Sweden, while entering the chart at #2 in the U.K., France and Canada. Filmed on June 25, 2013 in Lodz, Poland, the offering captures the band in the midst of a standing-room-only European tour. The two-hour plus performance features Toto’s hit stocked repertoire alongside other favorites.

Toto has revealed plans for 2014 to deliver what fans have been clamoring for: they will be recording a new studio album, their first since Falling In Between (2006), planned for release in 2015. This past April, they staged a sold-out seven show headlining arena tour of Japan that took the band through Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo, Sendai and Sapporo. So before the new album arrives to satisfy fans, Toto, genuinely thrilled by the reception the tour received, will hit the road on August 2 as co-headliners with Michael McDonald for their most comprehensive and far-reaching North American tour in years (see itinerary below).

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have respectively or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of Toto. As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of HALF A BILLION albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations. Re-read those last two sentences. Those numbers and list of honors are staggering and leave no doubt as to how the band ~ still one of the top selling tour and recording acts in the world ~ has remained vital for over 35 years; they are consummate musicians with talent and style that has earned them their colleagues’ respect, kept their fans loyal, and also consistently impressed the often fickle music industry. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production and their name remains synonymous with musical credibility.
Band members have been “South Park characters,” “Family Guy” presented an entire episode on Africa with Peter Griffin as keyboardist David Paich (see Peter “acting” while the band’s hit “Africa” plays in the background here), and just a year ago Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake offered a light-hearted homage via a comedy sketch around “Africa,” too. Toto are pop culture, one of the few 70s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles, and, more than 35 years into a career (which obviously…and thankfully…shows no signs of slowing down)…enjoy a multi-generational fan base and an unwavering love for the music they create.
TOTO also continues to raise awareness for ALS, inspired by their brother and friend Mike Porcaro, who has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
