Keyboardist David Paich shared, “The last 35+ years have been the most amazing journey imaginable.  The successes, the disappointments, the whirlwind tours with all our insanely loyal fans, whom we love dearly, and have given us such a rewarding life. We’ve lost members and gained a few, with the original core unit from the old neighborhood still kickin’ it like kids on stage.  Thanks to all our Fans Everywhere!  Toto is very grateful to all of you who are buying (and will buy!) the new Live in Poland DVD.  Thank you all, again, and again, AND….etc.   We look forward to giving you more music and a new CD next year and a tour to boot.  Down the yellow brick road we go.  SEE YA REAL SOON!”

Guitarist Steve “Luke” Lukather added, “After a long, wonderful, surreal and sometimes f*cked up 35+ years as a band, never in our minds did we imagine the good fortune we are now receiving. The reviews, the reaction from our longtime friends and supporters, and the new friends we have made recently on tour are appreciated.  We are blown away, and so very thankful and honestly surprised at the reception and success of this new live DVD out of the box!  To be at the top of the DVD charts worldwide is an unreal but yet wonderful dream come true.  After ALL we have been thru…the ups downs, wins and losses, the hard punches and then the love, music and laughter.. well.. it all is so much more appreciated now than ever before.  I know we can’t wait to see you on the road and wait till you check out the new album early next year.  This is a band FAR from over! Much love and thanks to you all.”

Filmed on June 25, 2013 in Lodz, Poland, the offering captures the band in the midst of a standing-room-only European tour. The two-hour plus performance features Toto’s hit stocked repertoire alongside other favorites.

Toto has revealed plans for 2014 to deliver what fans have been clamoring for: they will be recording a new studio album, their first since Falling In Between (2006), planned for release in 2015.  This past April, they staged a sold-out seven show headlining arena tour of Japan that took the band through Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo, Sendai and Sapporo.  So before the new album arrives to satisfy fans, Toto, genuinely thrilled by the reception the tour received, will hit the road on August 2 as co-headliners with Michael McDonald for their most comprehensive and far-reaching North American tour in years (see itinerary below).

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have respectively or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of Toto.  As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of HALF A BILLION albums.  Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations. Re-read those last two sentences.  Those numbers and list of honors are staggering and leave no doubt as to how the band ~ still one of the top selling tour and recording acts in the world ~ has remained vital for over 35 years; they are consummate musicians with talent and style that has earned them their colleagues’ respect, kept their fans loyal, and also consistently impressed the often fickle music industry. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production and their name remains synonymous with musical credibility.

7 - AFRICABand members have been “South Park characters,” “Family Guy” presented an entire episode on Africa with Peter Griffin as keyboardist David Paich (see Peter “acting” while the band’s hit “Africa” plays in the background here), and just a year ago Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake offered a light-hearted homage via a comedy sketch around “Africa,” too.  Toto are pop culture, one of the few 70s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles, and, more than 35 years into a career (which obviously…and thankfully…shows no signs of slowing down)…enjoy a multi-generational fan base and an unwavering love for the music they create.

Toto ALSTOTO also continues to raise awareness for ALS, inspired by their brother and friend Mike Porcaro, who has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Learn more about the disease here ~ and in fact May is ALS Awareness Month. The band commits energies towards fundraising for Police and Fire Departments of California and for the Fallen Heroes initiative, and help the United Nations in their humanitarian endeavors through music.

TOTO is a band with the rare combination of talent, a sense of humor, commitment to the integrity of their music, genuine appreciation for the support of their fans, and a social conscience that goes beyond mere words and inspires them to take action.
