Steve Buscemi Debuts Original Series “Park Bench” on May 15th on AOL

Currently starring in HBO’s hit “Boardwalk Empire,” Golden Globe winner and Emmy-nominated Buscemi has, due to his seemingly boundless talent, eclectic choices of roles, and genuine and witty personality, become one of the most recognizable, prolific, and beloved actors in recent history and will now be bringing his own style of comedy to his fans (present and future). On Thursday, May 15th Steve and friends get up close and personal with the distinctive individuals (both celebs and not), places and attitude that define The Big Apple on the new AOL Original series “Park Bench.”
“Park Bench” is a new kind of “talking show” straight from the [brilliant? slightly twisted? a bit distracted?] mind of born and bred New Yorker and host, Steve Buscemi. Featuring a mix of surprise celebrity appearances and spontaneous interviews with people on the street, Park Bench will convey Steve’s unique relationship with New York and its array of one-of-a-kind characters. Through unscripted moments and conversations with average New Yorkers, Buscemi and his friends take viewers along on their misadventures discussing, well, everything, and proving, quite humorously, that having an ace research department was not the show’s first priority. Everyone once in a while, Steve does throw in a serious question or two, but the break from the humor is fleeting.

The premiere episode of the series will feature actors Chris Rock, Anthony Laciura, Janeane Garofalo and dueling benches with an extra bonus clip from Chris Rock. Episode two will feature an interview with actress and author Rosie Perez and a bonus clip showing Steve and his own personal Ed McMahon, Geo, hitting the streets to talk to New Yorkers about their favorite subject, New York. In episode three, Steve talks e-cigars with comedian Billy Connolly and gets help from Colin Quinn parking cars. Episode four will feature The Main Squeeze Orchestra, singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash and Steve’s “Boardwalk Empire” cast mate Michael Shannon ~ with a bonus clip with actor and photographer Joel Grey.
