Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators Will Release Their Third Studio Album This September
Who better to declare “LET ROCK RULE” than Aerosmith, America’s Greatest Rock Band?
Rock’s favorite and most charismatic, prolific army ~ Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford ~ and special guest Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will join forces for LET ROCK RULE, this summer’s definitive rock & roll experience.
Promoted exclusively by Live Nation, the LET ROCK RULE tour kicks off on Thursday, July 10 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, NY (see full itinerary below). Aerosmith and Slash ~ longtime friends who’ve performed together throughout the years ~ will also take over Boston, MA. (Xfinity Center), Los Angeles, CA (The Forum) and San Francisco, CA (Sleep Train Pavilion) among other cities before wrapping Friday, September 12 in Sydney, NS, Canada (Open Hearth Park).
This summer’s hottest ticket will go on sale to the general public starting on Saturday, April 12 through the Live Nation mobile app and at livenation.com. The first round of tour dates are below with additional dates for a second leg to be announced shortly.
“Looking forward to inciting a riot and building the tribal bonfire even higher ~ it’s a win win with Slash,” said Steven Tyler.
Agrees Joe Perry, “The writing’s on the wall ~ Aerosmith and Slash. We’re gonna let rock rule this summer. Catch us if you can.”
Slash adds, “Aerosmith is one of my all time favorite bands, and one of the greatest rock ‘n roll bands of all time. It’s an honor for me to go out & tour with them and keep the rock ‘n roll banner flying high.”
The excitement all started when Joe Perry took it to the streets with Risk, the famous graffiti artist, last Thursday night (see our article here) for LET ROCK RULE and things began ramping up mysteriously when the Aerosmith logo and the tour announcement date of 4.8.14 were bombed on various buildings in downtown Los Angeles by Joe Perry and Risk. Following this, Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer stepped up the momentum and went to Downtown Austin with street artist Chunk, to continue the Let Rock Rule tagging. It was all first reported by TMZ ~ and the “bombing” has continued every night.
Joe Perry says, “I have always felt that Aerosmith was Americas hometown band and what better way than to take matters into our own hands to spread the word.”
Earlier today (April 8) Steven Tyler and Joe Perry revealed ~ on the Ryan Seacrest radio show ~ that they would perform a free set to announce the LET ROCK RULE tour. Aerosmith, with a special guest appearance by Slash, played a roof-raising set for the assembled crowd at the Whisky A Go Go, the historic Los Angeles venue where they performed their first LA gig in 1973.
Aerosmith’s North American summer dates will follow the band’s overseas dates kicking off May 14 in Istanbul, Turkey and will hit 16 countries including stops in Russia, France, and the U.K. before wrapping July 2 in Kiev, Ukraine.

And speaking of Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators…
Slash and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators ~ Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass) and Frank Sidoris (guitar) ~ will return this September with their third studio album, title TBA, which will be the second album with this line-up.
The group is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to 2012’s Apocalyptic Love which is being helmed by producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Falling In Reverse, Incubus). The group is recording a total of 17 songs ~ including one instrumental. “It’s very rock. It’s more up-tempo than the last record was,” states vocalist Kennedy. “Slash has got some really great riffs on this record. Killer stuff…” “The material on this album is more serious and more fun at the same time, which is a tough balance,” adds bassist Todd Kerns. “The songs are sleazier, tougher and more dangerous. We’re all very excited to unleash the monster upon you as soon as we can.”
Slash officially began recording as a solo artist with his self-titled 2010 debut album which employed a different vocalist on each track of his first album including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and Myles Kennedy among others. Slash explains, “We’ve worked really well together from the start. I never thought about how it’s progressed. It’s real natural and like any sort of close relationship, we established it early on and now we’re just sort of doing our thing, it’s just a really cool kind of synergy that we’ve got.” Apocalyptic Love earned Slash two first-ever No. 1 U.S. rock radio hits with “You’re A Lie” and “Standing In The Sun.” The album’s third single, “Anastasia,” cracked the Top 10 at Modern and Active Rock and Top Five at Mainstream Rock.
Watch Slash’s “Real To Reel” webisodes happening now in the studio. The innovative online series is documenting the entire in-studio recording process from the first day of recording to the last, the multi-segment fly-on-the wall series follows Slash and The Conspirators from pre-production at NRG Studios in Los Angeles to Studio Barbarossa in Florida, as they write, play, create and record the new album from start to finish.
Following the summer run with Aerosmith (dates above), the group will return to the U.K. and Europe. Expect more shows to be announced shortly.
