Bear Hands Unveil NSFW Video For “Peacekeeper”
Continuing Tour In Support of New Album Distraction
Bear Hands have unveiled the NSFW video for “Peacekeeper” from their latest full-length, Distraction, out now in the US and Canada via Cantora Records. The primarily black and white clip features the band in a tongue-in-cheek battle with law enforcement, assisted by some women in varying states of undress and automatic weapons ~ donuts, breasts and bullets abound. Says the band, “We released the video for ‘Peacekeeper’ today, and we think it’s almost as good lookin’ as its directors, Andrei and Sam, pictured here [right]. Bear Hands recently had a successful run at South By Southwest and were consequently singled out as one of the best discoveries of the festival by NPR, who lauded the band’s “serious, intricate pop.” This spring, Bear Hands will continue to take their live show on the road in support of Distraction. The ongoing tour features stops at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Edgefest and Big Guava Music Fest and includes dates with Bombay Bicycle Club and Cage the Elephant. Distraction has been met with praise, with Pretty Much Amazing singling out Distraction cut “Bone Digger” as “…just too funky to have come from human hands.” Consequence of Sound noted that “…no matter the individual song’s components, though, an underlying punk ethos still shines thanks to their insatiable sense of curiosity and their utter creative fearlessness.” Death and Taxes said that Distraction “…blends lush guitar textures with irresistible melodies to pleasing effect,” while Alternative Press said, “Bear Hands are great… and they’re evolving faster than most of the stuff on your hard drive.”
