Clifton, New Jersey-based melodic metal outfit Julius Seizure ~ propelled by the re-joining of original vocalist Yosef El ~ are pleased to announce the release of their brand new tracks “Sixth and Falling” and “Second Coming” today via MetalInsider.net! The tracks are cut from their August 2013 release, Trials. Check out the featured Unsigned and Streamed feature here, exclusively via MetalInsider.net.

“‘Sixth and Falling’ really encapsulates what Julius Seizure is all about,” states guitarist Anthony Smeragliuolo. “Our songs have something for everyone, and this is the epitome of that concept.  It’s got memorable, catchy hooks, both vocally and instrumentally, while maintaining the heaviness that defines us.  The arrangement of this song is what stands out to me.  It’s got speed, brutality, groove, and melody in a dynamic three and a half minute package.”

Julius bewareFormed in November 2011, Julius Seizure strives to achieve the perfect balance between melody and brutality, with a sound that is wildly unpredictable yet carefully crafted.  Joined by former members of some of New Jersey’s most popular unsigned metal bands including Will Killmore, Simensis, and The Annealing, founding members Steve Toth (Guitars), Anthony Smeragliuolo (Guitars), Brian Daniell (Bass), and Kyle Wilson (Drums) quickly got to work on their debut EP Beware the Ides of March, which released in June 2012.

Julius TrialsProduced by guitarist Steve Toth at the band’s own studio, Beware the Ides of March was met with much critical acclaim and Julius Seizure quickly generated a devoted fan base with multiple U.S. tours in summer 2012.  The debut single “Oxy(Generation)” and accompanying music video, directed by guitarist Anthony Smeragliuolo, received extensive airplay via Sirius/XM Liquid Metal, WSOU, and many blogs, websites, and social media based outlets. Their 2013 follow up, the aforementioned Trials EP, was met with similarly positive reviews and increased Julius Seizure’s fan base significantly.

The band has a packed schedule for 2014 with a constant outpour of new music, videos, and shows, including a stop at this year’s New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on Thursday, April 17, 2014.  Julius Seizure has established itself as a leader of the New Jersey metal scene, and 2014 will see the band achieve a new level of excellence.

Make it a point to come out and see they guys live.  You won’t be sorry ~ in fact, you’ll be pretty damn stoked.  Sure, I felt a bit of a connection to the band before I even had a chance to check out their sound ~ for reasons like they’re not only from NJ, but they’re also playing a show in my hometown of Trenton, they have an album called Beware the Ides of March and one of my good friends/Flashwounds writers (who, by the way, will be interviewing the band very soon, so stay tuned for that) was the founder and drummer of a killer band called Beware the Ides, and the band is playing the 16th annual New England Metal and Hardcore Fest, which is not only a sacred tradition for Flashwounds and heavy music lovers from across the nation, but also happens to take place just a few miles from our East Coast office ~ and then I heard their music.  These Jersey boys do melodic metal ~ a term used inaccurately far too often ~ the way it should be done.  So come out and see/hear them live and grab yourself a copy of Beware the Ides of March and Trials.  And appreciate that there are still bands out there clever enough to come up with a name like “Julius Seizure” ~ and tie it into one of their album titles.  Don’t underestimate us Jersey folk!
