Band to Make Appearances Supporting Bastille on Upcoming North American Tour in Addition to SXSW 2014 in March

London, UK-based indie rock band To Kill A King is excited to announce the North American release of its debut album titled Cannibals With Cutlery. Produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club) as well as the band itself, the 17-track deluxe version of Cannibals With Cutlery will be released on Tuesday, April 22 through Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me!). Cannibals With Cutlery has been receiving wide critical acclaim and radio support overseas due to its set of memorable songs that vary in tempo from tender acoustic ballads to large-scale bodies of work consisting of orchestral strings, brass and five-part harmonies. At the forefront of the album are the intelligent, literary lyrics written by frontman Ralph Pelleymounter, sung in his distinctive, honeyed baritone.

Check out the video for the album’s single, “Rays,” HERE.

In addition to the release of the album, To Kill A King will also be making a number of appearances throughout North America next month supporting Bastille. Taking in 14 evenings, the tour will visit markets in Canada, the U.S. and culminate in a performance at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, GA, on Tuesday, April 29. Prior to the support tour, the band will be performing as part of this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX, in mid March. The band will also be supporting Frank Turner on three dates in Arizona from April 16-18. Tickets for the upcoming tour are on sale now and more information can be found on the band’s Facebook page.

To Kill2One of the hardest working live bands in the UK, To Kill A King ~ Ralph Pelleymounter (vocals/acoustic guitar), Josh Platman (bass), Josh Taffel (drums), Grant McNeill (electric guitar), and Ben Jackson (synth and keys) ~ have performed as part of The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, Hyde Park British Summertime, Rolling Stone Weekender Festival and Reeperbahn in Germany, Reading & Leeds, Bestival and Leefest (amongst others).

To Kill A King were main support to Bastille on their March & October 2013 UK tour as well as November’s European Tour. They have also supported The Flaming Lips and Bastille at the Brighton Dome & Dog Is Dead on their April 2013 tour. They have also performed their own headline dates in the UK, selling out London’s Scala and KOKO as well as shows in Munich, Brussels, Hamburg, Cologne and more. The band also contributed to Bad Blood, Bastille’s breakthrough album, most notably on the track “Pompeii.”

With the North American release of the deluxe version of Cannibals With Cutlery and a set of upcoming tour dates supporting Bastille, To Kill A King are clearly one of the most exciting bands to emerge from today’s UK music scene and are poised to draw even more attention throughout the course of 2014.
