Sophomore full-length Goodnight New York out January 28 on Dead City Records, teaser video streaming on YouTube
N.Y. hardcore punk act Caught in a Trap and AbsolutePunk.net have teamed up to launch a brand new track, “Easy Come Easy Go,” from the band’s upcoming record, Goodnight New York. “Easy Come Easy Go,” the second song to be revealed from the band’s sophomore full-length, can be streamed exclusively HERE.Goodnight New York is due out January 28 on Dead City Records.
“I feel like this record is our love song to New York City,” said vocalist Rich Fie. “But if you listen to love songs, they aren’t always about joy and happiness; sometimes they are about loss and despair. It’s a record that was a long time in the making. We definitely stretched out a little stylistically, but at the same time kept true to our NYC punk and NYHC roots.”
Stream the new Goodnight New York teaser video on YouTube and stream an additional track, “It’s Over,” on StereoKiller.com.
Goodnight New York was recorded with Glen Lorieo (Yuppicide, No Redeeming Social Value, Crown Of Thornz) at Night Owl Studios late last year. Pre-orders are now available through the Dead City webstore.

Caught in a Trap was formed in 2005 in Queens, N.Y., and solidified its current lineup ~ Jay “The Don” Rogan aka Gringo Starr – Drums, Paul Seda aka Nice Guy Paulie – Guitar, 6pack Jon – Bass, Rich Fie – Vocals ~ the following year. The band released one demo before entering the studio with Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All) to record its critically acclaimed debut Rats Get Fat in 2007. On the strength of Rats Get Fat, Caught in a Trap played hundreds of shows over the next few years in N.Y. and the surrounding areas.
After over half a decade without a new album, Goodnight New York was born, filled with “piss and vinegar” in response to the current political, economic and gentrification of the band’s hometown of NYC.
