Bastille, an MTV 2014 “Artist To Watch,” Announces New North American Tour Dates

Bastille – the breakout U.K. band that topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative Songs charts with the smash hit “Pompeii” and was recently selected for MTV’s 2014 “Artist to Watch” music discovery campaign – will extend its spring North American run into June. The outing will kick off on March 31 in Chicago. Tickets for the newly announced shows will go on sale beginning this Friday, January 17. See below for itinerary and specific on sale information. Bastille will also perform at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (April 11 and 18), the Hangout Beach Music & Arts Festival (May 18) and the Governors Ball Music Festival (June 6-8).

 

The band will be the musical guest on the January 25 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” which will be hosted by Oscar-nominated actor Jonah Hill, who stars in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street. Bastille, which leads the BRIT Awards 2014 with four nominations, will perform on “Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday, January 28. While in the States, the band will play three sold-out shows, including a night at New York City’s Webster Hall (Wednesday, January 22).

 

Bastille2All This Bad Blood, a multi-part deluxe album that includes Bastille’s 2013 debut album, Bad Blood,and a second disc of additional content, is out today. The collection contains the band’s hit single “Pompeii.” After topping Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart for four straight weeks and the Adult Alternative Songs chart for two consecutive weeks, the track hits a new U.S. milestone this week with SoundScan reporting more than one million downloads sold. “Pompeii,” which continues its ascent at Top 40 and Hot AC radio, is also an international smash – certified Platinum in the U.K. and New Zealand, double Platinum in Italy and triple Platinum in Australia. The “Pompeii” video, which can be seen here, has racked up more than 55 million views.

Bad Blood entered the albums chart at No. 1 in the U.K., where it closed out the year as the biggest selling debut album and the biggest selling digital album. It has been in iTunes’ Top 10 in 34 countries, including the U.S. Bastille celebrated the September 2013 U.S. release of the album with its first North American tour – a sold-out headline run – and by year’s end Bad Blood had become the highest charting debut album by any UK act in 2013.

Bastille has been nominated for four prestigious BRIT Awards including: British Breakthrough Act, British Group, British Single for “Pompeii” and the much coveted Mastercard Album of the Year award for Bad Blood. The band will perform at the awards ceremony on February 19.
