Techno Legend UMEK Set to Embark on 3 Month Tour Across North America

Fresh off his hosting and performance duties this past weekend at the annual charity festival Žur z razlogom in his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia, UMEK today announced plans to hit the road almost non-stop through the year’s end. The tour will take the titan across North America, South America, and Asia, in that order.

PART ONE:  Stops in the US and Canada, with major appearances at Insomniac events Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Wonderland and club dates at Exchange, LA and Shine in Vancouver.

PART TWO:  The superstar hits South America for two weeks followed by a return to North America for an extended tour on the club and festival circuits. Included stops have UMEK showcased on some prime stage real estate ~ FreakNight/Seattle, Pacha/NYC, Lavo/Las Vegas, EDC/Orlando and Mansion/Miami ~ just to name a few.

PART THREE:  Affectionately dubbed “UMEK Goes to Asia.” For nearly all of December, UMEK will be covering the wide expanse of Asia, crisscrossing the continent to deliver a few very lucky countries some early techno cheer!

More about UMEK

It would take a long essay to fully explain UMEK’s place in and influence on electronic music. The Slovenian born producer and DJ has been setting trends and rocking dance floors for two decades now ~ and shows no signs of slowing down. He’s tireless in his techno and tech house production and, with more than 100 gigs per year, is probably one of the busiest techno DJs out there.

He’s not only been rocking our ears with his own productions for labels like Toolroom, Spinnin, Great Stuff, Intec and many more, but also has been heavily involved in choosing whom to sign to his arty imprint 1605, which mostly supports young, talented artists who haven’t yet made it on the global party scene.

Having conquered most of world’s biggest stages and festivals, UMEK started “Behind the Iron Curtain,” his own weekly radio show, which immediately landed on dozens of the world’s hippest EDM radio stations.

Although he probably holds a national record for the number of flights per year, UMEK still finds time for charity. Every August he hosts a charity event called “Party with a Cause,” where local sponsors help raise money for a certain cause, mostly those that help underprivileged youth.
