Get Ready for Some Extra Summer When Joe Moorhead’s New LP Tides Are Rising Drops on Sept. 1

Tides

Like Jack Johnson, Citizen Cope, and Sugar Ray jamming together in an idyllic paradise, Joe Moorhead makes the perfect music to soundtrack summer’s transition to autumn.

His new album, Tides Are Rising, is all about island vibes, relatable lyrics, and an impressive lyrical flow that draws on new definition as much as it draws on the classic shoreline sounds of Otis Redding and Jimmy Buffet. That’s what makes Joe so unique: his laid-back, positive tunes draw on such diverse influences that his music appeals to listeners of all stripes. It doesn’t hurt that each of the album’s eleven tracks is teeming with hooks, each as satisfying as a sunset drink on the open water.

Not able to escape to the islands before the cold weather starts making its move?  Then you’re going to love this tribute to all places tropical. Tides Are Rising is perfect for one of those delicious end-of-summer nights or for a beachy soundtrack to keep you dancing and mellow even when a chill hits the air. The track “Bad Day” day goes down smooth with rum or a nice Mai Tai and “Sunshine Driving” is perfect for a road trip with the windows down, even if you have to throw on a sweater.  Joe and Tides prove that summer is just a state of mind…
