The Bonazzoli Band Wants You to Help Release Their New Album!

The Bonazzoli Band has been playing live and releasing albums since the late 1980s. Hometown favorites no matter where they’ve called home over the years, it’s time for them to bring their music to a national audience…As the band describes it, “The Bonazzoli Band combines the best of 20th century music ~ rock, swing, blues, country and gospel ~ into an amazing new sound that almost everyone can enjoy.”

Here’s how you can help the band reach that national audience, in lead vocalist Matthew Bonazzoli’s own words:

“We’re trying to raise money [via Indiegogo.com] to give our seventh album a proper release.  We’ve always been a self-funded band with limited exposure ~ and that has kept us relatively unknown nationally even with our local popularity.   By a ‘proper release,’ we mean a quality CD and digital album, music videos to promote it and a marketing budget to advertise and build on our success.

BonazzoliWe’ve set up some great perks for folks who are willing to contribute to our goal, including copies of the album, credits on the album artwork, live performances, and music lessons from the band and more.

Regardless of whether we reach our funding goal or not, every penny raised will still go into the production and release of the new album.  We will get this album finished and on the market as soon as possible.”

We believeThe new album is called American Ghost Stories and it is a follow up to their 2010 release Quiet Little Towns.  You can read more about the story behind the latter here.

With genuine gratitude in his voice, Bonazzoli shared that, “Your support is very much appreciated. Even if you can’t contribute yourself you can help us out by getting the word out about our band and our sound and what we’re trying to accomplish.”

  1. Totally time to bring it back! Would be so cool to hear it again with the new band bringing a new twist to it. I remember how much i loved it when i first heard it at the Plantation club! You guys should do something for your East Coast fans like ask them their favorite songs from your Gearhead days and then maybe choose a few to redo on a special album!

    • Hi Stephanie, It’s interesting that you suggest redoing some of the classic Gearhead tracks. On our last album “Quiet Little Towns” we redid the Gearhead song V8 from the dynaflow album as well as several other never recorded Gearhead tracks such as October Night and Never. On this album we are doing something similar. I’m open to suggestions on which songs you’d like to have us reinterpret.

  2. Looks like you all live and perform in the Daytona area most of the time. Ever go on the road and take a gig on the East Coast?

    • Hi Stringman,
Yes, we are headquartered in beautiful Ormond Beach, Florida now. A far cry from our days playing in New England. We do leave Florida when we get the call to but not very often. We are working on a deal now that could take us all the way up the east coast right into Massachusetts again. Time will tell if its in the cards or not.

      -Matthew

  3. LOVE this band! Their version of “Secret Agent Man” is one of my fave covers EVER! This new incarnation of the band has gotten even better at mixing “cool” from all different eras of music into something really modern and fun…they’re not too pop, not too moody…they’re just right! Can’t wait to hear the new album!!!

    • Hi Stephanie, yes, that goes way back to the early 2000’s. Occasionally we still play around with Secret Agent Man at rehearsal but haven’t played it live since the Gearhead days. Maybe it’s time to bring it back? Thanks for the memory!
