Front Row Pics: Peter Frampton @ Indian Ranch
By Frank Poulin
FlashWounds was invited to a VIP BBQ at Indian Ranch this weekend, followed by Peter Frampton’s Guitar Circus to kick off the Ranch’s summer concert season in style. Sonny Landreth started off the show with his slide guitar stylings and delivered a great set, setting the tone for the afternoon in front of a full house of receptive and enthusiastic fans.
Peter Frampton took the stage next, and let me tell you folks, even after all these decades he’s still a master at his craft and his sound is still very much his own. Fans sang along on favorites like “Show Me The Way“ and “Do You Feel Like We Do,” but the highlight was definitely having former Eagles guitarist Don Felder walk out and play “Hotel California“ for a delighted crowd before taking on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Pride And Joy.” Both guys were clearly having a blast playing together and the result was truly something to see and hear.
I’d never been to a “Guitar Circus” before, but this one was very good indeed!
Wish you’d been there? Well, you can get the next best thing between my shots below and a download of the live recording from that afternoon’s very show (available in the next few days). Enjoy!
Special thanks to Adam Klein for the great reception!
