Indie-Alt-Folk Band Von Grey Kicks Off Summer Tour With Its First-Ever Bonnaroo Performance

Band Plays NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall 2 on July 26 and Pair of Colorado Dates with Indigo Girls in August
Indie-alt-folk band von Grey will launch its summer 2013 tour this Friday, June 14, with its first-ever performance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The Atlanta-based group will be on the road into the fall, playing a mixture of headline shows, festivals (including Common Ground, Gathering of the Vibes and Athens Sound City) and support dates. The run will include a night at Rockwood Music Hall 2 in New York City on July 26 with Joe Firstman and two Colorado concerts with Indigo Girls.

The unsigned band’s EP ~ recorded with GRAMMY® award-winning producer/engineer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Train, The Gaslight Anthem) ~ shot into the Top 10 on iTunes following their recent performance on “Conan.” von Grey has also appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman” and in the online SXSW coverage with Kate Snow for NBC’s “Rock Center with Brian Williams.”
“One listen to von Grey’s first single, ‘Coming for You,’ explains the buzz. Crystalline harmonies, stirring lyrics and inventive melodies are the calling cards of [the] siblings,” said Billboard in a recent “Scouting Report.” Guitar World’s Laura B. von Grey ~ Annika (lead vocals, violin, banjo, guitar, keys), Fiona (lead vocals, guitar, violin, percussion), Petra (keys, lap steel guitar, background vocals) and Kathryn (cello, bass, mandolin, keys, background vocals) ~ has performed upwards of 200 shows in the past two years, from recurring residency tours at intimate venues throughout the southeastern U.S. to supporting gigs with such artists as Sarah McLachlan, Company of Thieves and Lindsey Stirling.
The band recently released its first live collection, Live at Criminal Records 01.01.13, recorded earlier this year at the famed Atlanta independent record store.
