Holy Grail Announce North American Headlining Tour

Music video for new album title track Ride The Voidout now.

 HOLY GRAIL

Formed in SoCal in 2008 by vocalist James Paul Luna and drummer Tyler Meahl when they took leave of metal squadron White Wizzard and hooked up with San Diegan guitar hero Eli Santana, Holy Grail at first called themselves Sorcerer ~ until they realized that the name didn’t do justice to their talent and how far they planned to take it. Thus was born Holy Grail.

C1022

Now, having just completed the Metal Alliance tour alongside thrash legends Anthrax ~ which led to high praise for their “thunderous guitars and soaring vocal harmonies…” from the Washington Times, passionate heavy metallers Holy Grail (who were indeed correct that their music would someday make a major impact on the metal world, as it is poised to do now), will return to the road this summer with support from recent Nuclear Blast signees Anti-Mortem. The five-week headlining tour will kick off in San Diego on June 19 and venture throughout the U.S. and Canada before the band makes a July 26 homecoming at the famous Sunset Strip venue, The Whisky A Go Go. Tickets go on sale starting on Friday, May 10.

Holy Grail will be touring in support of their sophomore release, Ride The Void, which has been labeled a mixture of “80s American thrash and 21st century metal, blending perverse technical ability, aggro intensity and sing-along melodies” (Chicago News Review). The album, produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children of Bodom), cracked the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart upon its January release. The band recently premiered the music video for the new album’s title track ~ see it for yourself here.

And do not miss Holy Grail play live ~ as they just proved when taking the stage at the venerable metal-rite-of-passage NEMHF in Worcester, MA, these band members, both individually and as a group, are the very definition of true musicians and performers…every fiber of their being goes into their performance.  One can only imagine from the depth and energy of their commitment to the music ~ not to mention their undeniable talent ~ that they’d bleed metal if cut.  “We shred and we’re serious about it,” Luna shares, stating the obvious. “This is not a tongue-in-cheek thing. It’s not throwback or retro. Holy Grail is a modern band with a new twist on the best of old-school metal with death metal riffs, modern breakdowns and power-metal singing. We just tried to pick stuff from all our favorite bands and make the best blend of metal we could.” This is one Holy Grail absolutely worth the quest.
