Paper Diamond to Release Paragon EP on April 23

Paper Diamond bigThis month, Paper Diamond partnered up with This Song is Sick, who premiered “They Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” This was followed by another exclusive premiere with Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival  with the new single with Christian Rich, titled  “XIX,” featuring vocals by Angela McCluskey (Billboard’s single pick of the week). Both tracks will appear on Paper Diamond’s forthcoming EP Paragon. Today Paper Diamond announced that Paragon‘s release date is being pushed back to Tuesday, April 23. Rather than leave his fans empty-handed, though, Paper Diamond is offering up the unreleased instrumental b-side track “Sleight of Hand” for free download. His old-school fans will be sure to vibe with this cut since it fuses Paper Diamond’s signature bouncy electronic beats with hip-hop vibes for an epically fresh, anthemic banger.

Paragon will feature a range of production, instrumentation, and collaborators all weaved into Paper Diamond’s signature style. While “genre-defying” is an overused word, Paper Diamond is one of those rare artists who truly pulls it off, seamlessly weaving together genres as diverse as electro, funk, dubstep, house, moombahton and hip-hop. During the past two months, while on tour with Excision, Paper Diamond has been dropping some of the new songs on stage, including the single “They Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” which has caused crowds to to go absolutely nuts. According to Paper Diamond, “It’s one of the rowdiest parts of the show.”  The single features original verses from Texas rapper J Fresh. A few weeks back, Paper Diamond exclusively partnered with This Song Is Sick to offer up up this first tasty sampler and boasted, “This has all the signs of being a festival anthem. The song starts with a peculiar stabbing synth that sets the mood of the track. It builds more energy and drop in some chopped up rapping adding the perfect touch. The drop hits and doesn’t let up, then bringing in the eerie synths once more.”

With the warmer season upon us, Paper Diamond has announced new festival dates as he continues his nationwide tour with Excision. The remaining tour dates are below.

Paper Diamond is making quite a name for himself, and it comes as no surprise to those familiar with his endlessly creative music. As he puts it, “Paper Diamond draws from an origami concept in that If you have a piece of paper, whatever your diamond shape is (simple or complex), that’s YOUR art. For me musically speaking, whether it’s simple or has a lot of layers, it’s my self-expression. Paper Diamond is art.”
Skill and versatility has landed Paper Diamond on stage with some of the biggest names in the game, as he has been personally selected asPaper Diamond an opener by the iconic Bassnectar, newly-minted superstar Skrillex, EDM mainstay Pretty Lights, and now dubstep heavyweight Excision. The hip-hop community has also welcomed Paper Diamond with open arms ~ recent collaborator Big Boi gave him a shout-out in Vibe Magazine, and his track “The 40 Thieves” had an exclusive premiere on Jay-Z’s Life + Times. In an interview with Life + Times, Paper Diamond said, “I’ve been taught that music is a conversation. I personally use music to express my voice.”
