Killswitch Engage Announce First U.S. Headline Tour in Support of Disarm The Descent
5/29 ~ THIS JUST IN!!! Killswitch Engage kick off their summer headline tour in support of Disarm the Descent tomorrow night, May 30 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the region that was hit by a devastating tornado on May 20. Moved by the stories of the people whose lives were affected, the band has decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the evening’s tickets sales to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Also, fans are encouraged to look for a special Killswitch Engage t-shirt, where 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the RFBO.
Grammy-nominated, Massachusetts-based hard rockers Killswitch Engage ~ singer Jesse Leach, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D’Antonio, guitarist Joel Stroetzel and drummer Justin Foley ~ have announced their first headline tour in support of their just-released new album Disarm the Descent, which enjoyed an astounding first week in stores, debuting at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 and at #1 on both the Rock Albums Chart and the Hard Music Chart.
Joining Killswitch Engage on this tour will be Miss May I, Darkest Hour, The Word Alive and Affiance (Note: The Word Alive won’t hop on the tour until the Orlando date. They will not appear at the Guelph date, either.).
Tickets went on sale on April 12 or April 13, depending on the market.
“Everyone in the Killswitch family is excited to get out on our first U.S. headlining tour in support of our new record,” Leach said. “We are hitting some great cities and have a great mix of songs from every era of Killswitch as well as of course a handful of new ones.”
Leach continued, “We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I and a new band we’re all excited to see live called Affiance. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Our live show will be full-on energy with all of us ready to take this to a whole new level.”
Bassist Mike D. concurred, saying, “…assumptions are high that utter chaos shall ensue. There will be so much metal riffage ~ you could build your own Carnival Cruise Ship…”

The record has received near-universal praise from the press, garnering coverage from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Alternative Press, Revolver, Decibel, The Onion, Crave, ARTISTdirect, Loudwire, Noisecreep, About, Metal Sucks, and others.
“Their fastest and fiercest yet,” proclaimed Billboard.
Everyone from National Geographic to ex-NFL’er and reality star Chad Ochocinco has been talking about the band. The former mentioned the band in a piece about the physics of moshpits, where a fan stated that KsE always incite the best pits at shows, while the latter tweeted that it was his workout record for the day.
In other KsE chart news, the band has achieved several milestones. The album enjoyed career highs: Top 10 and Top 20 chart debuts in several countries including Australia (#6), Germany (#12), the U.K. (#15), Austria (#15), Japan (#16), New Zealand (#17), and Finland (#8).
This is NOT a tour you want to miss!
