My Dying Bride to ReleaseThe Manuscript This Spring

BRIDEU.K. doomlords My Dying Bride  ~ Aaron Stainthorpe – Vocals, Andrew Craighan – Guitar, Hamish Glencross – Guitar, Lena Abé – Bass, Shaun MacGowan – Keyboard/Violin ~ have been imposing their legacy for over two decades, ever since the debut album As the Flower Withers surfaced in 1992. Now the morose troupe returns with its latest work, The Manuscript, set for release on Peaceville Records on May 13, 2013 on CD and vinyl.

The Manuscript contains four new and exclusive songs; it’s a dark voyage spanning over 27 minutes of supreme doom in the unmistakable My Dying Bride style of heaviness mixed with dark tales of foreboding. It was recorded and mixed at Futureworks Studios in Manchester, U.K. with the band’s long-time producer, Mags.  Those four monstrous tracks are brilliantly crafted metal that only My Dying Bride could pull off, with swathes of doom-laden melancholy, harmonic beauty and thundering death metal all combined into the band’s trademark sound.

“Four tales of tragedy, loss and bitter vengeance greet the listener with an added assault on the emotions too, leaving the soul grey and limp. There is beauty here, but it’s carrying a dark blade,” commented the band.

2012 saw the release of undoubtedly one of My Dying Bride’s finest and most epic works of late, A Map of All Our Failures, which captured the imaginations of metal fans and doom lovers alike with foreboding journeys through love and death, religion and folklore.

Stay tuned for more information on My Dying Bride and The Manuscript.
