Forever Still, a hard rock band with a beautifully twisted soul, has just released their new EP, Breaking Free, recorded by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Mew) and mastered by Troy Glessner (Underoath, Kittie).  The band, who rose up from the Copenhagen underground, has gotten their first taste of sweet musical glory and now they’re coming to the US.

The female-fronted rock band is already one of Denmark’s most talked about bands for their combination of gritty guitars, electronic elements, and catchy songs that punch listeners in the diaphragm and suck the breath out of them ~ and now it’s our turn to experience the onslaught.

Forever Still came together as a band gradually, with each new member adding the right type of kindling to make the hard rock fire burn hotter.  The concept was first conceived by Mikkel Haastrup, who then found his charismatic lead singer, Maja Schonning, performing at a gig with her former band.  Schonning hopped on board and in 2009 the band was officially born.

Hasstrup, who is trained as a sound tech, makes it possible for Forever Still to be completely in charge of their own unique sound. This band is a force to be reckoned with ~ to watch the video for “The Key,” head here.

In 2011, the duo was joined by fierce drummer Chat T. Charlton, who adds incredible power to the band’s live performances and studio sounds.  Later on that year, they caught the attention of rocker Anders Bo (Medina, Celina Ree), who joined them in the studio, recording guitars on several tracks.  The band’s final ingredient was added when experienced guitarist Carsten Christenson joined, completing the band’s current line up.

Forever Still is celebrating their recent partnership with the US-based Inner Light Agency for full managerial representation.  Check out Schonning’s dark vocal styling on Breaking Free and the fierce rock edge of Forever Still as a whole ~ and join me in hoping they waste no time in touring the US.
