Eight years ago, Tracey Delfino started Trespass Music from scratch. At the time, she knew very little about the Folk Scene, but one of the very first shows she ever went to was Sloan Wainwright’s.  “[Sloan] took the stage with a confidence and energy that I could feel all the way in the back of the sold out room. I will never forget the moment I first heard her sing. I sat there in awe through the entire show. I bought a CD at the end of the night. I played it until it would not play anymore. I have been a fan ever since. Three years ago I followed her around New Bedford Summerfest and watched every slot she played. She was in the green room the same time I was and I got up the nerve to introduce myself to her. We had a wonderful conversation. This past November, at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference, I was speaking on a panel and Sloan walked in and sat down, I felt my belly flip!  Later she came to our table in the exhibit hall…..we talked about all things music. Today, with extreme honor, we welcome Sloan to the Trespass family.

TresspassOver the next few months, Trespass will be working with her to get the music out there, get the story out there and get her out there. As Tracey reiterates, she is “…thrilled to be working with such an amazing and inspiring woman.”

Into The Light: Sloan Wainwright Emerges

By Michelle Fortier of Trespass Music

Sloan Wainwright is here, living out the best of her life, and she’s exactly where she’s supposed to be. She’s excited about the limitless possibilities ahead of her, as she steps into the light, emerging with new purpose, new music, a new chapter in life!  As she and I speak she’s very candid, yet there’s no pretense ~ something you might expect coming from a member of the Wainwright family tree, a dynasty of gifted musicians that reads like a DJ’s wish list.

Within Sloan’s voice, I hear a depth of emotion and a healing heart as she reveals her soul with words that touch you on a level so deep, you know she’s observed life’s beauty and tragedy with mighty force. The emotional healing has begun, as she bears witness in song with her miracle album, Upside Down & Under My Heart.

Sloan says she’s “…faced human-beingness head on at 450 miles an hour…” and her album Tresspass3 Upside DownUpside Down & Under My Heart will leave you knowing she has never walked away from music, even in her darkest hour. She never left the music business in the first place, so she isn’t making a comeback.  She has done what any master songwriter worth their salt does.  She’s watched life in all its ugliness and joy, written the lyrics in her heart and on her sleeve, recording the anguish and the blessings and is sharing a 10 song legacy for those she loves and has loved in this, her 8th album.
