The Band Perry’s Pioneer Brings Charming Country Soul to the Masses

By Jane Croft

PerryTheir 2011 quadruple platinum break-out hit “If I Die Young” catapulted The Band Perry into the stratosphere of fame.  Now they’re continuing that success with their recent release, “Better Dig Two,” which has taken the #1 spot on the Billboard Country Chart for a second consecutive week and claimed a #1 spot on Mediabase. The fastest-rising single of the band’s career has sold over one million copies and also marks the trio’s third chart-topper.

“Better Dig Two” sets an incredible tone for The Band Perry’s new sophomore album, Pioneer, which is slated for release April 2 on Republic Nashville. Pioneer has been named one of Entertainment Weekly‘s “12 Albums We Can’t Wait For” and will undoubtedly charm us with the awesome fusion of county, rock and soul that the band is known for.

Collaboration and musical innovation comes naturally to these musicians ~ not only are they bandmates, they’re siblings who can belt out mean three-part harmonies. Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry come from a tight-knit family and despite the three of them loving the same books and cooking the same recipes, they feel that when they sit down to create songs, it’s their individual experiences that they bring to the music that help create the magic.

And there’s no arguing that the magic is powerful!  The Band Perry received an ACM nomination for Vocal Group of the Year just last week. The 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast on April 7 at 8:00pm live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

The Band Perry is currently on the road with Rascal Flatts as part of the Farmers Insurance Presents “Changed Tour” which runs through August.  Check out their website for dates and locations and catch their country soul if you can!
