Beth Hart Is Back Stronger Than Ever with Bang Bang Boom Boom

By Jane Croft

beth hart-bang bang boom boomSometimes you need to hit rock bottom before you’re truly able to work your way to the top ~ and musician Beth Hart is living proof.  Hart, whose captivating performance with Jeff Beck at the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors prompted a spontaneous standing ovation from an audience that included President and Mrs. Obama, is about to launch her first U.S. headline tour in more than a decade and is eagerly awaiting the April 2 release of her latest album, Bang Bang Boom Boom.

But it’s been one hell of a tough journey for Hart.

The Janis-Joplin-esque singer/songwriter was “living the dream” in the late 90s, but there was pain mixed in with the glitz and glam.  She was signed to a major label, had the hit single with “L.A. Song,” and was basking in great press and choice tours.  But an addiction, combined with undiagnosed bi-polar disorder, crashed down on her career and wreaked havoc.  Instead of giving up, Hart chose to pick herself up.  Now healthy, happy, married, and clean for the past decade, she’s returning to the music.  And fans ~ both old and new ~ are welcoming her with open arms.

Bang Bang Boom Boom promises to be a stunning work of blues, rock, jazz and soul, with all of the tracks written or co-written by Hart and recorded with some of the finest musicians working today.  Joining her on her tour are her long-time band members, Tom Lilly on bass, Jon Nicholas and P.J. Barth on guitars, Todd Wolff on drums.  The talented group will perform songs from Bang Bang Boom Boom as well as songs from Hart’s complete catalogue.

Hart is back, and she’s ready to prove just how powerful music can be.

  1. Please come to Atlanta!!!!!!!!

  2. Her European tour is on since quite some time and reviews are, what I have seen, only good. After I ‘found’ her last fall I have listened to her a lot. It’s heart gripping, great blues, great rock and great ballads. Of cours some songs are better than others but I can’t say that I have found one single song that I don’t like.
I was at her first Sweden concert ever in Stockholm a month back, February 19, which was a great show and even though it’s not her kind of music my wife enjoyed it too. I brought two couples along and they all wondered why they haven’t heard of her before, they became addicted.
Beth is a great artist, with a great Hart!
