Summer camp ain’t just for the young ~ it’s for hardcore music worshippers who are young at heart, too! Carmine Appice’s Rockaholics Metal Fan Camp is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out with some of metal’s most talented musicians, listen to their crazy stories from the road, ask whatever burning questions you might have, and delight in nightly jam sessions.
Scheduled for August 26 thru August 30 at the Full Moon Resort in the Catskill Forest Preserve (just 30 minutes away from Woodstock, NY), the camp gives attendees the chance to hobnob with drum legend Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus) as well as his fellow camp counselors ~ singer/guitarist Eric Bloom (Blue Öyster Cult), drummer James Kottak (Scorpions), guitarist Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister), and renowned shredder Michael Angelo Batio. Needless to say, these guys are the cream of the metal crop.
“As I ran into my friends at [the Winter NAMM Show in Southern California], I asked different people in the rock and metal arena if they would be interested. And one by one I picked the best guys who were available,” Appice says. “The guys who are committed to ROCK! They are some of the best in the biz. They are cool, personable rock stars who’ve been around for a while and have seen it all. It’s gonna be a great time!”
