Pet Rock Issues Proceeds to Charities
Pet Rock Fest, the 14th annual, took place in September at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. Thanks, a little, to some gorgeous weather, it turned out to be one of our most successful yet. And success means Pet Rock is able to help even more New England animals in need. Thanks to the overwhelming support of sponsors, volunteers and attendees, a number of charities benefited from the proceeds this year. The following charities received a donation from Pet Rock Fest: MSPCA, EchoDog – Animal Legal Defense Fund, Foster Parrots, Worcester Animal Rescue League, Juno’s Place, Maple Farm Sanctuary, Humane Society/Youth, Almost Home Rescue, Merrimack River Feline Rescue, PittieLove Rescue, CMDART, Calliope Rescue and Spay Worcester.“This is what it’s all about ~ helping animals,” said Founding Partner Charlene Arsenault. “With so many charitable organizations out there, it can be hard to know where to give your hard earned money. This is a small operation, and we get no profits, so absolutely everything goes where it should: to helping animals. It’s direct and extremely effective. We’re so thankful for the generosity and longtime support of the animal advocates in this area.”“The Pet Rock grant program allows us to carry out the mission of Pet Rock to support animal welfare organizations in order to aid animals in need and prevent animal cruelty,” said Founding Partner Jeannie Hebert. “We are deeply honored to be able to assist these very worthy organizations.”
Please read more about these charities and the wonderful difference they make in the lives of so many animals.
Congrats, also, to Pug Rescue, which won our coveted Adoptable Pet Parade, receiving $500 from Pet Rock Fest at the festival. And our two lottery winners were Almost Home Rescue and PittieLove Rescue, each also receiving $500 from Pet Rock Fest. Congrats also to our dog contest winners, as well as our cat photo contest winners, which will grace the pages of our 2013 Pet Rock Fest calendar.
